The Do's and Don'ts of Dating

Valentine’s Day is upon us, and if you’re single, that means it’s time to start thinking about how you’re going to celebrate. Whether you’re looking for a date or just trying to have some fun with friends, here are a few tips to make sure your Valentine’s Day is a success.

Get out there and mingle!

If you’re single, the best way to find a date is to get out there and meet new people. There are plenty of ways to do this, whether it’s going out to bars or clubs, signing up for a dating app, or attending social events. Whatever you do, just make sure you put yourself out there so you have a chance to meet someone special.

Be afraid to be yourself

One of the most important things to remember when dating is that you should always be yourself. This doesn’t mean you have to share everything about yourself on the first date, but it does mean being honest about who you are and what you’re looking for in a relationship. If you try to be someone you’re not, chances are good that the relationship won’t last very long.

Make sure you're both on the same page

Before you go on a date, it’s important to make sure you’re both on the same page about what you’re looking for. Are you just looking for a hookup? A casual relationship? Something more serious? Once you know what each other is looking for, it’ll be much easier to keep the relationship on track.

Play games

Nobody likes games, especially when it comes to dating. If you like someone, let them know. If you’re not interested, don’t lead them on just because you think it’ll be funny or because you want attention. Be honest with yourself and with your date so everyone can relax and enjoy themselves.
Whether you’re single or taken, spending Valentine’s Day with a special someone can be a lot of fun. Just remember to be yourself, be honest, and don’t play games. If you follow these simple tips, chances are good that your Valentine’s Day will be a success!
